Phone number QR code
People scan the code and their phone offers to call you, without typing a single digit.
What is your QR code for?
Make one in three steps
- Enter the number with its country code, like +44 7700 900123.
- Scan the preview and check the right number appears.
- Download and add it to signs, vans, flyers or packaging.
What goes inside the code
An example, using sample details:
tel:+447700900123
- Add the country code
- A number starting with +44 works from any phone, including visitors on foreign SIMs. Without it, calls from abroad may fail, and the generator will remind you.
- Print the number too
- Some people prefer to read the number, and some will see the code from a passing car or across a street. Put the digits beside the code so nobody is left out.
- Use a line someone answers
- Choose the number that is actually picked up during opening hours. Add those hours under the code so callers know when to ring.
Common questions
Does scanning call straight away?
No. The phone shows the number and asks before dialling, so nobody calls you by accident. They tap to confirm, the same as tapping a number on a website.
Will it work on a tablet or laptop?
The code uses a standard tel: link. Phones dial it directly. Tablets and computers may offer a calling app such as FaceTime, or do nothing if no calling app is set up.
Can I add an extension number?
Not reliably. The generator keeps only the plus sign and the digits, so pauses and extension codes are removed. Print the extension next to the code and let callers dial it themselves.
