Payment link QR code
Customers scan and land on your own payment page, from Stripe, PayPal, Square or similar.
What is your QR code for?
I have
Create the link with Stripe, PayPal, Square or your provider, then paste it here.
Make one in three steps
- Create a payment link in Stripe, PayPal.me, Square or your provider.
- Paste the link here and scan the preview to check it.
- Make a small test payment yourself before you print the code.
What goes inside the code
An example, using sample details:
https://example.com/pay
- Set the amount at your provider
- Fixed prices, tips and custom amounts are all set up with your payment provider. The QR code only opens the link, so change the price there, not here.
- Print who is being paid
- Put your business name and what the payment is for next to the code. People are rightly wary of scanning to pay, and a clear label helps them trust it.
- Check for stickers over yours
- On counters and machines, check now and then that nobody has stuck a different code over yours. A laminated or framed code is harder to tamper with.
Common questions
Does QR Hippo take payments?
No. QR Hippo does not process payments or touch any money. The code opens the payment link you already have with Stripe Payment Links, PayPal.me, Square or another provider, and they handle the rest.
Are there any fees?
Making and downloading the code is free. Your payment provider charges its usual fees on each payment, the same as when customers use the link any other way.
What if my payment link changes?
A static code keeps opening the old link, so you would need to reprint. If your links change often, a dynamic code on a paid plan lets you point it at the new link without reprinting.
